Paul Lewis piano
Festival favourite Paul Lewis returns with a programme framed by two of Mozart’s most appealing piano sonatas – one known for its charm and grace, the other for its intensity and restlessness.
In between comes music from France – Debussy’s sensual and ecstatic vision of an island ruled by love L’isle joyeuse, and a selection of Poulenc’s more down-to-earth Improvisations – the witty, lyrical vignettes the composer wrote over a period of 27 years, each dedicated to a colleague or friend.
