Hailed by the BBC as “The Gershwin pianist of our time” at his Proms debut at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1995, Jack Gibbons has built an enviable reputation as one of the world’s greatest exponents of the music of Gershwin.
Tonight’s programme includes the composer’s immortal concert works Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris, Concerto in F and Second Prelude, plus Gibbons’ acclaimed authentic recreations of Gershwin’s original show-tune Gibbons, as recorded by the composer in the 1920s.

About Holywell Music Room
The Holywell Music Room in Oxford is one of the oldest purpose-built concert halls in Europe and a treasured cultural landmark in the city.
