Planning application submitted for 16 new council homes in Northway

Oxford City Council has submitted a full planning application for 16 new council homes at Maltfield House in Northway, replacing the derelict former children’s home with a fully affordable housing development.

The new homes are planned to be energy efficient and accessible, with an all-electric design and low-carbon technologies. The homes will be available for social rent and are intended to help meet demand from people on Oxford’s housing register.

Subject to planning permission, construction is expected to progress towards completion in 2028.

The scheme is being delivered directly by Oxford City Council through its Housing Revenue Account and forms part of the council’s wider Affordable Housing Supply Programme, which aims to deliver 2,000 new homes over the next decade.
