Woodstock Open Air Pool is extending its 2026 season after a record-breaking summer, with cool water swimming returning from 31 August and continuing until 27 September.

More than 9,000 visitors had used the popular outdoor pool by the end of July, compared with 3,039 during the same period in 2025.

The extended season has been confirmed by West Oxfordshire District Council and leisure partner GLL, responding to continued demand for outdoor swimming.

The September programme will focus on cool water swimming following the end of the pool’s summer activities. Opening times will vary and swimmers are advised to check the Better UK website or app before travelling and to book ahead where possible.

The council said the extension would give residents and visitors further opportunities to enjoy the community facility as summer gives way to early autumn.
