Little Shop of Horrors

About Little Shop of Horrors
Mischievous, monstrous and full of heart – Little Shop of Horrors as you’ve never seen it before.
A Leeds Playhouse production in association with Oxford Playhouse
Book & Lyrics by Howard Ashman
Music by Alan Menken
Directed by Jamie Sophia Fletcher
Sink your teeth into this electrifying new production of Little Shop of Horrors with its gloriously dark heart, blending Broadway musical wit with retro B-movie chaos and the camp horror of the iconic 1986 film.
Down on Skid Row, timid florist’s assistant Seymour Krelborn’s life changes when he discovers a mysterious plant he names Audrey II. This wisecracking, R&B-singing carnivore promises fame, fortune, and the girl of his dreams – but demands one small thing in return: blood.
As Audrey II grows, so does its appetite, and its plan for domination begins to unfold.
Packed with unforgettable songs by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, the legendary duo behind Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, this cult favourite combines dark comedy, bold visuals and irresistible tunes for a wildly entertaining time at the theatre.
Based on the film by Roger Corman, Screenplay by Charles Griffith. Originally produced at the Orpheum Theatre, New York City by the WPA Theatre, David Geffen, Cameron Mackintosh and the Shubert Organization. By arrangement with Music Theatre International.
