About the Old Swan, Minster Lovell
Old Swan is a quintessential country inn nestled on the river Windrush, in Minster Lovell – the heart of Oxfordshire and just 15 miles from Oxford. This ancient inn with an old-fashioned barn (it’s a rather lovely 15th-century building) comes with acres of gardens and grounds that some might argue it’s more of a hotel and restaurant than a “pub with rooms”.
Eat & Drink
Expect fresh local ingredients crafted into hearty dishes; this is the perfect place to enjoy a pie and a pint by the fireside, or a salad on the terrace in the summer. The menu is seasonal and the food is simple, hearty and flavoursome with delicious items available all day.
The Old Swan’s dining rooms and bars are a myriad of beamed, cosy quarters with roaring log fires and rugged flag-stone floors. There is a choice of dining rooms depending on your numbers, occasion and preference or you can enjoy the outdoor terrace and picturesque gardens throughout the summer months. Dogs are permitted, with their owners, into the bar area only of the Old Swan where a snack menu is on offer.
Stay
The Old Swan comprises 15 charming guest rooms and suites which epitomise the classic beauty of a rural inn. Each room is individually designed to seamlessly blend the unique historic features of the building with luxurious comfort. As expected, all rooms come with crisp white linen, plumped up pillows and dreamy beds to guarantee that perfect night’s slumber. It’s a dog-friendly hotel, and a limited number of our Superior Rooms are available if you are travelling with your dogs.
Good to know
The Old Swan and Minster Mill operate as two distinct hotels on the same estate. The Old Swan is a historic 15th-century inn offering traditional, characterful rooms and pub-style charm, while Minster Mill provides a more contemporary experience with modern rooms, a spa-style feel, and landscaped riverside grounds.
