Blue Monday rolls around every year on the third Monday in January, so according to reports, Monday, 15 January 2024, is officially titled the saddest day of the year.
For the third year running, voco Oxford Thames is helping the people of Oxford banish those blues by giving them the opportunity to win an overnight stay at the hotel.
The hotel is offering an escape to its Sandford-on-Thames hotel on a weekend of their choice during this year. Located along the River Thames, it is a perfect location for a blue escape.
Locals are once again invited to nominate themselves for the stay, explaining why they deserve the chance to enjoy a deluxe room worth £500 in the historic grandeur of the College Hall.
The stay will also include a complimentary dinner in Napiers, where the menu is full of seasonal dishes made from local produce.
Wendy Procter, Cluster General Manager, says: “January can feel like a tough month for many people, so we have made this offer our tradition as a way of helping make January less gloomy.
“We hope to give someone in our community something to look forward to, for free.”
The lucky winner can be joined by a person of their choice and enjoy breakfast at the hotel the following morning, with riverside views straight from the hotel’s door into the heart of Oxford City Centre.
