An Evening with Richard Dawkins and Friends

Richard Dawkins – one of the most respected scientists and thinkers of our time – will embark on a new tour of the USA and Europe, including an unmissable date in Oxford.

The world-renowned evolutionary biologist and best-selling author of such landmark books as The Selfish Gene, The God Delusion and Unweaving The Rainbow has earned millions of admirers through his passion for the wonders of science and the vital importance of reason.

Renowned for his unapologetic advocacy of science and reason, Dawkins is celebrated for groundbreaking work that captivates millions with his passion for scientific inquiry.

In his new tour – which begins in the USA in September before heading to the UK and Europe – Dawkins and several special guests will connect with audiences in unscripted conversations touching on topics from science to religion, life on earth and beyond. 

Audiences will hear first-hand about his forthcoming book – The Genetic Book of the Dead – in which Dawkins delves into the transformative potential of DNA in our understanding of evolution.

The Oxford show is one of six UK dates promoted by Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor in association with WME and IDEATE.

  • 26 October – Royal Festival Hall, London*
  • 29 October – Corn Exchange, Cambridge

  • 04 November – The Lowry, Lyric Theatre, Salford

About New Theatre Oxford

There has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. The first theatre was built in 1836, and a second in 1886. In 1934, the third New Theatre opened.

The theatre has been owned by several different companies and undergone several name changes. It is now owned by the Ambassador Theatre Group and hosts everything from ballet and opera to musicals.

On performance days, the Box Office opens at noon and closes 15 minutes after the show starts. If there is a performance on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, Box Office will open 2 hours before the show begins and close 15 minutes after the show starts.

There is a large air-conditioned bar with seating located below the Stalls Foyer, two further bars in the Circle Foyer and an additional one at the back of the balcony. All stocked with an array of drinks and snacks.

There is a cloakroom located in the stalls bar. If this is closed, please speak to a member of staff. £1 per item. It is free to ATG Theatre Card members.
