
Oxford Ice Rink is hosting a national ice skating competition from 12 to 14 November and is inviting spectators to come and enjoy the event free of charge.
This exciting three-day competition features skaters of all ages and abilities, from beginners taking their first competitive steps to nationally ranked athletes.
The Oxford Open is a long-running competition organised by the Oxford School of Skating, based at the ice rink.
Local skaters have registered to compete, and they will be joined by skaters from across the UK, making it a fantastic opportunity for fans to experience the thrill of live ice skating up close.

Jane De Lange, Ice Skating Co-ordinator at Oxford Ice Rink, said: “We are excited to welcome back this competition to Oxford, with so many local children and talented athletes from across the UK taking part.
“The event is organised by a dedicated team of local volunteers from the Oxford School of Skating, and we would love to see as many people as possible come along and experience the excitement.
“Whether you’re a long-time skating fan or new to the sport, this is a wonderful way to support our local athletes and enjoy top-class skating in the heart of Oxford.
No booking is required for this event, and it’s free for all spectators. All you have to do is head to the ice rink at the times listed below:
- Tuesday 12 from 7.45am to 6.15pm
- Wednesday 13 from 7.30am to 4.30pm
- Thursday 14 from 7.30am to 5.30pm
