Oxfordshire-based company, Mixergy has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK. Only 197 organisations have received the King’s Award for 2025, and out of those, only 46 have received it for Innovation.

Based just outside Oxford in Cassington, Mixergy was founded 10 years ago.  Its smart and connected hot water solutions use machine learning and innovative engineering to provide products that reduce carbon and maximise efficiency in the home. Mixergy cylinders are compatible with any heat source, at any time during the product’s lifetime, including gas or electric heating, solar PV or heat pumps.

As the UK electrifies, every home will need a hot water cylinder. Mixergy’s smart technology can turn each one into a connected heat battery, empowering the grid to connect more renewable energy, while lowering bills for tenants and homeowners.

Pete Armstrong, CEO and Co-Founder of Mixergy, said: “We’re incredibly proud to receive The King’s Award for Enterprise. This prestigious recognition highlights our dedication and passion for innovation, particularly in unlocking flexibility and facilitating the use of lower-carbon energy sources.

“At Mixergy, we are committed to supporting the UK’s transition to net zero and optimising energy use in homes. This award is a testament to the hard work of our brilliant team and the continued support from our partners who share our mission to decarbonise homes.”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed in 2023 to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II by recognising outstanding UK businesses.

The Award programme, now in its 59th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country. Successful businesses can use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
