Frilford Heath Golf Club has announced Be Free Young Carers as its Captain’s chosen charity for 2026, launching a year of fundraising in support of young carers across Oxfordshire.
The partnership follows a successful 2025 campaign in which the club raised £30,000 for Homeless Oxfordshire. Fundraising for Be Free Young Carers officially began on 01 February, as the club welcomed its Men’s and Lady Captains for the year ahead.
Tony Weir, who continues in his role as Men’s Captain, and newly appointed Lady Captain Caroline Pearce marked the start of their captaincy with the traditional Captain’s Drive-In on the championship Red Course.
A highlight of the club’s calendar, the Drive-In signals both the beginning of the new captaincy year and the launch of fundraising activities for the selected charity.
Based in Oxfordshire, Be Free Young Carers supports young people aged eight to 17 who care for family members. The charity works to ensure young carers are able to enjoy their childhood, build confidence and form meaningful friendships, despite the additional responsibilities they face at home.
Through emotional support, social activities and tailored opportunities, the organisation aims to make a lasting difference to young carers and their families across the region.

Throughout 2026, the club and its Captains will host a series of fundraising initiatives, including auctions, raffles and flagship Captains’ Day tournaments. These events are central to the club’s annual programme and provide members with opportunities to come together in support of the local community.
Set within a 450-acre estate of natural heathland, Frilford Heath Golf Club is home to three classic courses and has been a fixture of Oxfordshire golf for more than a century.
