Zizzi will move from 59 George Street to the former ASK Italian restaurant at 5 George Street, reopening on Thursday 22 October after a short closure.

Zizzi is moving to a new home on Oxford’s George Street, relocating its restaurant a few doors along the city-centre street to the former ASK Italian site.

The restaurant, currently at 59 George Street, will close on Sunday 18 October before reopening at 5 George Street on Thursday 22 October. The new site is opposite Bella Italia and Franco Manca, placing three Italian restaurant brands within a short stretch of George Street.

The move is expected to take Zizzi just three minutes down the road, but the restaurant is inviting Oxford residents to get involved in the relocation itself.

At 12.00pm on Tuesday 20 October, Zizzi will ask local volunteers to help carry restaurant items from its existing premises to the new site. Among the items to be moved are pizza boxes and the restaurant’s large pepper grinders.

The first 10 people to arrive at the existing restaurant to help with the move will each receive a £100 Zizzi voucher. The vouchers, worth £1,000 in total, can be used at the new restaurant after it opens.

The relocation will give Zizzi a new setting on George Street while keeping the restaurant within the same central Oxford area. Its new address at 5 George Street was most recently occupied by ASK Italian.

For customers, the main change will be the address, with the existing restaurant closing four days before the new site opens.

Zizzi’s new Oxford restaurant will open at 5 George Street on Thursday 22 October.
