About the Chipping Norton Mop Fair
The traditional Chipping Norton Mop Fair returns to the town centre this September, bringing three days of fairground rides, attractions and lively entertainment to the streets of Chipping Norton.
The annual fair is one of the town’s longstanding traditions, with the Market Place and surrounding streets transformed as the fair arrives. Expect the sights, sounds and atmosphere of a traditional travelling fair, with rides and attractions for visitors of all ages.
The fair takes place from Friday 18 to Saturday 19 September 2026. Visitors should be aware that special traffic arrangements will be in place in and around the town centre during the event, including restrictions affecting the A44 Market Place and parts of High Street.

Free to enter; individual fairground attractions charged separately
Opening times:
Opening times are noon to 10.00pm on both days, and entry is free at all times. Charges apply for the rides.
Good to know:
Temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in operation during the fair.
