Dillie Keane is thrilled to be coming back to the Theatre at Chipping Norton with a new raft of songs, once again accompanied by the extraordinary talent of Michael Roulston on piano.
Some old, some new, some borrowed, some unashamedly blue. Her solo shows have always been a little more reflective than her work with Fascinating Aïda, but she can’t help her mordant sense of humour getting the better of her most of the time. This new collection of songs is another glorious mix of the hilarious and the heartbreaking.
In these uncertain times, what better than a night of cabaret with one of its most venerable artists? Obviously, Dillie is getting on in years and her age could count against her, so let’s hope she survives until February. (And for a good few more years after that, says she.)
Dillie is a performer and songwriter best known as one-third of the satirical trio, Fascinating Aïda. She formed the group in 1983 and in spite of all efforts to kill it off several times, Fascinating Aïda is still going after very nearly 42 years. The group has performed on five continents and garnered 3 Olivier Nominations and 3 Drama Desk nominations.
Live performance is her first love and she intends to go on performing till infirmity or the Grim Reaper intervenes.
