Only The Poets
08 June 2024 @ 6.30pm

About Only The Poets
Only The Poets is an indie-rock band from Reading, formed in 2017 and currently consisting of members Tommy Longhurst (lead vocalist and guitarist), Clem Cherry (guitar and vocals), Andy “Roo” Burge (bass and vocals) and Marcus Yates (drums and vocals).
The band gained popularity from being Louis Tomlinson’s supporting act on the European leg of his world tour in 2021. In 2023, they were the supporting act for Lewis Capaldi’s Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent tour.
Only The Poets is sonically inspired by 90s Britpop bands like Blur, Oasis, and The Cure, and their music has drawn comparisons to Villagers, The Script, The 1975, Bruce Springsteen, and Sam Fender.

About O2 Academy Oxford

The Edwardian building on Cowley Road has been hosting live music for decades. But prior to being a music venue, it was a Cooperative party hall. It was originally known as The Venue and then the much-respected Zodiac, both of which paved the way for O2 Academy Oxford, which officially launched in September 2007, with performances from New Young Pony Club, The Magic Numbers and Young Knives.
Since then, the O2 Academy Oxford has established itself as one of the city’s greatest venues for live music and club nights, with some of the best gigs to date coming from Ed Sheeran, Foals, Stereophonics, Ozzy Osbourne, Babyshambles, Hozier and Royal Blood. Visit the venue information page for further details, including opening times, getting there, age restrictions and more.
