About Oxford Breast Buddy Group Fashion Show and Gala Evening

Oxford Breast Buddy Group (OBBG), an Oxfordshire-based charity supporting people affected by breast cancer, invites you to a gala dinner and fashion show on Friday, 04 October 2024, in the majestic surroundings of the University of Oxford’s Examination Schools.

The event will celebrate breast cancer survivorship and raise awareness of the charity.

This special event will also feature an auction of unique experiences generously donated by supporters and the local community. The evening will be an exclusive event with a limited capacity of 220 guests. A high-quality three-course meal and drinks will be served on the night, with live music and entertainment alongside the fashion show.

OBBG was co-founded in 2015 by Professor P.G. Roy, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Oxford. The charity provides advice, psychological and emotional support and a safe forum for discussion following treatment and beyond for anyone affected by breast cancer.

Angela Unsworth, a member of OBBG, said, “This is set to be a fabulous celebration of the amazing work OBBG does in and around Oxford – with all the models taking part in the fashion show being survivors of breast cancer. We hope you can join us on the evening of 04 October.

“Being told you have any kind of cancer is isolating, even from people who love you and who you love more than anything else. Support groups of people with lived experience, to whom you can say anything at any time is so critical, because you can say nothing which they have not already thought or said themselves. We celebrate the fact that we are still here, we celebrate that we have such fantastic people as P.G. Roy in our corner and we continue to celebrate the friendship and support of networks such as OBBG.”
