Ready to ‘hoof’ loads of fun next summer? For eight ox-traordinary weeks, Oxford’s city streets will be home to over 30 bold and beautiful ox sculptures. Each unique ox will be intricately designed by local and international artists.
OxTrail is a fun and free art trail where herds of life-sized and mini oxen will be taking over Oxfordshire for the summer.
Whether you’re a lifelong local or a new visitor, OxTrail is a new and exciting adventure in celebration of our city of spires and the local community, which makes it special.
The life-sized oxen will be intricately designed by local and international artists, while the mini oxen will be lovingly decorated by local schools and youth groups.
Once the trail is over, the oxen will be herded together for a final time and auctioned off to graze in their forever homes. The funds raised through the auction will help to fund the life-enhancing care that Sobell House Hospice provides.
OxTrail is being held in partnership with Wild in Art. Cities across the world have famously brought their streets to life via Wild in Art installations, including Manchester, Sydney, Cape Town and São Paulo.
