17 May 2024 @ 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Witney Jazz presents – Chris Cobbson’s African Rhythms
Infectious African rhythms blended with Western jazz.
Critically acclaimed guitarist Chris Cobbson draws on his Ghanaian roots to create this show, which features the rhythms and world jazz feel of the band (Chris on guitars, Phil Dawson – second guitar, Paul Jefferies – basses and Karl vanden Bossche on percussion).
Chris has performed with a host of greats from worlds of jazz, including Courtney Pine, Osibissa and Ghanain jazz ensemble Baraka and many more national and international musical ensembles.
He has now formed his own critically acclaimed band to create a brilliantly musical soup of African and Western jazz sounds. Not to be missed.

About Corn Exchange, Witney

The Corn Exchange is a public hall in the centre of Witney, located in West Oxfordshire. A community space and multi-purpose arts venue. Whether you are looking for music, theatre, comedy nights, lectures, conferences or even weddings, it is the venue for you.
The Corn Exchange, Witney, was built by the private Corn Exchange Company in 1863, replacing a 16th-century building used in the 1850s as a corn returns office. This beautiful stone building was designed by architect J. Collier of Putney in an Italianate style and, by 1875, was Witney’s leading building.
From the outset, it was used for social events and meetings as well as corn dealings and housed several clubs and societies. The building continues to fulfil this purpose and will continue to do so in the future.
With the 19th-century building incorporating all the character you would expect, plus the addition of modern facilities, and not forgetting the in-house café and bar 1863, The Corn Exchange is a destination and focal point for the people of West Oxfordshire and beyond.
