The winning images from the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) 2023 Photography Competition.

Judges have had the tricky task of picking from hundreds of wildlife-themed images showcasing the fabulous flora, fauna and landscapes of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

From hummingbird hawk-moths and dazzling damselflies to carnivorous plants, fruiting fungi and high-flying falcons – the standard of entries was excellent.

We are delighted to reveal the overall winner and share the prize-winning images from the BBOWT (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust) 2023 Photography Competition.

Congratulations to Harry Berks, overall winner of the BBOWT 2023 Photography Competition, for his close-up image of a white-legged damselfly showing off its big, blue eyes!

As overall winner, Harry won a top-of-the-range Nikon Z50 mirrorless digital camera with a 16-50mm lens and an A3 canvas print of his fabulous photo.

The winner of this year’s Children’s category was nine-year-old Fern Gregory from Oxfordshire, with a pin-sharp picture of a yellow-and-black hoverfly drinking nectar from a pink scabious flower.

146 people submitted 454 photographs for this year’s competition, and photographers could choose from 12 categories.

Category winners receive a workshop with Steve Gozdz of GG Wildlife Experiences, a copy of BBOWT’s 2024 wildlife calendar featuring their winning image, a café voucher, and certificate.

With such a high quality of entries, category runner-ups were also recognised and rewarded, each receiving a BBOWT calendar and certificate.
