About Root One Garden Centre & Cafe

Root One Garden Centre & Cafe is located on the main road running from Wallingford to Didcot, just outside the village of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, and they’d love to welcome you to their Garden Centre.

Plants, Seeds & Bulbs

Root One offers an extensive range of plants including perennials and grasses, roses, trees, alpines and succulents, climbers, shrubs, edibles, seeds and bulbs, and seasonal bedding.

Garden Care

The garden care department offers you all your season’s requirements, from weedkillers and fertilisers to hanging baskets, plant supports, lawn care products, gloves and footwear and much more.


The top-notch cafe serves freshly prepared and locally sourced food including breakfasts, scrumptious homemade cakes, and freshly-ground Italian coffee. You can enjoy hot and cold drinks, sweet and savoury snacks, sandwiches and hot meals with plenty of space for lunch and tea parties. And whenever there’s a break in the weather you can eat on the terrace.

Tools & Equipment

The centre offers a range of garden tools and equipment including carbon and stainless-steel ranges from Kent & Stowe, along with the lightweight heavy-duty range from Fiskars. Whether it’s for digging, cutting, hoeing or transplanting, they will have the tool for the job.

Garden gifts

In The Lady Gardener Room and Cafe, you will find an eclectic collection of gifts, including Kew Garden Pots, Heathcote and Ivory hand creams and lotions, doormats from Hug Rug, greetings cards from Abacus and the Compost Heap and much more.
