About

Councillor Alex Hollingsworth is the Cabinet Member for Planning and Housing Delivery (Labour and Co-operative Party) at Oxford City Council.

A former leader of Oxford City Council, he has served as a councillor for 13 years and councillor for Carfax since 2014.

Alex has lived in Central Oxford for over twenty-five years. He is particularly interested in Planning, Housing and Oxford’s city centre, and is committed to making the centre of our city a great place to live, work, study and visit.

He runs two small businesses, providing services to local publishers and buying and selling antiquarian books, and is also a part-time PhD student at Oxford Brookes University.

Alex was educated at the University of Texas and the London School of Economics. He has an allotment, and he serves on the Cripley Meadow Allotment Association.

He has two children at Cherwell School.
