Holiday Inn Oxford rolls out the welcome mat for Oxford Brookes freshers and families

Moving a son or daughter into university accommodation is rarely a calm affair. There are boxes to carry, bags to unpack and, inevitably, one last trip back to the car.

This September, Holiday Inn Oxford is offering Oxford Brookes students and their families somewhere to pause during the busy move-in weekend, with a warm welcome for those arriving in the city.

From Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September, the hotel will be offering a complimentary drink to parents and students who visit its lobby lounge as Oxford Brookes students settle into university accommodation for the new academic year.

For families staying at the hotel over the weekend, the welcome continues with complimentary tea and coffee throughout their stay.

The hotel, located a short drive from Oxford Brookes University, offers modern accommodation alongside free parking, an on-site restaurant and bar, and convenient access to Oxford city centre — making it a practical base for families combining move-in duties with a first taste of life in Oxford.

For parents, it could also provide a welcome moment of calm amid the excitement of university move-in weekend. And for students, it marks the beginning of a new chapter in a city that will soon become home.

With Freshers’ Weekend often being the first of many trips to Oxford for families — from open days and visits to graduations — Holiday Inn Oxford is clearly hoping its move-in weekend welcome will be the start of a longer relationship with parents and students alike.

Holiday Inn Oxford’s Freshers’ welcome runs from 11 to 13 September 2026.
