Tell your story to people
Tell your story to people who live, work or play in Oxfordshire with articles, videos and other forms of engaging and branded media, that lives on our website.
Sponsored content options
When it comes to sponsored content, you provide the content, and we’ll host it on our website. Alternatively, our in-house creative team can create the content for you.
Option 1: You provide the content
An incredible way to expand your reach.
We accept well-written sponsored posts (also known as paid posts), but they must meet our content guidelines and be relevant to our audience of people who live, work, or play in Oxford and across Oxfordshire.
And while the articles are written by you (the sponsor) or your agency, we’ll edit them and apply our style guide before publishing them on our website with up to three relevant backlinks. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our content guidelines.
You’ll need to provide any accompanying graphics, including at least one image that will be used as a featured image across the website. The image should be 1920px (width) and 1080px (height).
Option 2: We create the content for you
Custom content by our in-house team.
In this option, the editorial pieces are written by our team of creative writers, who have an in-depth understanding of how to align the content with our audience’s interests.
This means that your articles are crafted to resonate with our growing audience of people that live, work or play in Oxfordshire and to maximise performance across both search and social channels.
Our team will be happy to help with selecting and/or creating pictures, videos and graphics to accompany these articles (charged separately) if you’re unable to provide any.
In an era where consumers are increasingly bombarded by ads, content marketing, particularly sponsored content, is quickly becoming the most effective driver of engagement.
Sponsored content is long-form content sponsored by businesses and brands that live on our website. It can take the form of articles, videos and other forms of branded media that moves prospects down the engagement funnel.
From listicles (informational articles structured as a list) to long-form articles, videos, podcasts, infographics and other interactive media, high-quality sponsored content provides a variety of opportunities for reaching audiences in creative ways that they might not expect from straight-up advertising.
Frequently, these native editorial pieces become ‘trending’ local content on search engines, proving that advertising is effective when written to meet the interest or needs of the audience.
We’re open to publishing sponsored content relevant to our growing audience of people who live, work, or play in Oxford and across Oxfordshire. And we’ve put together a rather helpful editorial approach to help you better understand what to write about and how.
Yes, we will consider sponsored content from all industries, including gaming, gambling, beauty, and event adult entertainment. These industries won’t exist if they were not relevant to our lives.
So for us, it’s not so much about the industry that we take into account, but rather the quality of the content, which will also need to be presented in an editorially creative and engaging manner.
Our content guideline section is a good starting point for anyone looking to create content for publication on our website.
We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, MasterCard and Solo.
When making a payment using your debit or credit card, please ensure your name and billing address matches the cardholder address details held by your card issuer.
We also accept payment via PayPal.
In many respects, sponsored content is a type of native advertising that matches the form and function of our website while promoting a product, service or brand.
At the same time, the most effective sponsored content offers our readers useful, valuable information. This could be either by educating or entertaining them.
What’s more, we often have varying degrees of control over the creative and editorial approach taken when putting together the content. On the one hand, we fully control everything, just like any other featured story on our website. At the other end, our involvement is limited to reviewing for compliance with our advertising guidelines.
The decision to label content as sponsored is taken on a case-by-case basis while considering the objectives set out above and the degree of our involvement in the editorial process.
Labelled or otherwise, we strive to make our stories factual, informative, and entertaining.
