About Emmanuel Christian School

Emmanuel Christian School is based in Oxford and educates heart, soul, mind and strength. We encourage holistic learning which creatively meets and exceeds any national standard through seven contours which are embedded in our curriculum and practice: promoting the Christian faith, nurturing a Christian conscience, developing confidence, fostering curiosity, encouraging creativity, expecting contribution and celebrating growth.

Emmanuel Christian School was started in 1988 by a group of Christian parents who wanted to provide an environment for their children where the faith and values which were taught at home were mirrored in the life and learning which they engaged in at school. The Emmanuel Christian School association was founded to support the school in achieving this goal. In 1997, a local Christian who shared their vision bought the current site for the school and his family continue to support the school and its vision.

In recent years pupils from ECS have gone on to attend a range of secondary schools in Oxfordshire including: Cherwell School, Didcot Girls, The King’s School, Witney, Magdalen College School, Headington Girls’ School and Rye St Anthony.
