About The Cooper School
The Cooper School is a co-educational mixed secondary school and sixth form for ages 11 to 19 based in the northern side of Bicester in Oxfordshire. The school works within the local community to prepare and motivate all students to develop their full potential as individuals and as members of society.
Previously a community school administered by Oxfordshire County Council, it converted to academy status on 01 July 2014 within Bernwode Schools Trust. However, the school continues to coordinate with Oxfordshire County Council for admissions. The school joined the Acer Trust in January 2024.
The improvements in the school over the last few years (with the consequent growth of reputation in the local and wider community) means that the school has grown in popularity. It has focused on providing the best educational opportunities for students so that it is a centre of excellence.
The school wants its students to be stretched and stimulated because of the engaging educational experiences they access daily, with enriched opportunities and challenges and supported by various adults at the school, materials and resources, including the explicit use of new technologies in the learning process.
