About Windrush Valley School
Windrush Valley School is a thriving, well established and successful independent day school for boys and girls aged 3-11. We provide small class sizes in single-age cohorts, individual attention and affordable fees. We strive to ensure that all of our children are happy and successful.
Founded in 1951, it is registered with the Department for Education (DfE), the Independent Schools Council (ISC) and the Independent Schools Association (ISA); it is routinely inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
We understand the needs of busy parents and therefore provide supervised wrap-around care arrangements daily from 08:00 before school, and up to 18:00 after school.
The school prepares pupils for a successful future in either the independent or maintained sectors. We endeavour to ensure that all pupils achieve a place in their first-choice school when they transfer away at age 11.
We are always happy to meet with new and prospective parents; please come along and have a cup of coffee. You can tour the school, meet the staff and pupils with no obligation. You can book an appointment on-line or by telephoning the school office.
The school has a wide catchment area, drawing children from towns, hamlets and villages in West Oxfordshire in a twenty mile radius around the village of Ascott-under-Wychwood. Through its carefully planned programme for settling new children in quickly, the school ensures that the transition process is a rewarding experience.
Prior to admission, children are encouraged to spend time with their prospective class in order to get to know their classmates and teacher. The youngest age a child can start is three, with older children joining at later times.
