About The Farmer’s Dog
The Farmer’s Dog is the first Hawkstone filling station. But it’s not just a pub; it’s also a restaurant. And in the garden, there’s a farm shop, a butcher, an off-licence, a bar, and an outpost to grab a fantastic meaty snack.
The menu changes based on what’s in season and is packed with locally sourced ingredients from British farms. Yes, the pork, the beef, the lamb and the venison are all British. And so is pretty much everything else – the milk, the butter, the eggs, the vegetables and the fruit. Even the cooking oil is British.
Jeremy Clarkson, journalist, TV presenter, and star of Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm, bought the former Windmill pub nestled near the charming Cotswold town of Burford and reopened it in August 2024 with a new name — The Farmer’s Dog.
The newly revitalised pub is poised to become a destination for food lovers, Clarkson’s fans, and anyone intrigued by the man who transformed a modest farm into a global sensation.
Bookings are available at The Farmer’s Dog pub for weekday dinner and Sunday carvery. Lunch and drinks are walk-in only.
