Situated 12 miles south of the Diddly Squat Farm, which has become a household name thanks to Clarkson’s hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm, the pub in a picturesque countryside setting is the latest addition to his growing rural enterprise.

The Farmer’s Dog boasts a menu crafted around locally sourced British food, including pork, beef, lamb, venison, milk, butter, eggs, vegetables, fruit, and British fizzy drinks and tea, with many of the dishes inspired by produce from Diddly Squat Farm itself.

Visitors can enjoy classics like steak and ale pie, as well as more adventurous dishes showcasing the farm’s seasonal offerings. The drinks menu features the popular Hawkstone Lager, brewed with barley grown on Clarkson’s land, alongside other carefully selected local ales, wines, and spirits.

Clarkson expressed his excitement about the venture, saying: “This pub is my way of celebrating the fantastic produce and the incredible people of the Cotswolds. I hope it becomes a place where locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy good food, good drink, and good company.”

True to Clarkson’s outspoken personality, The Farmer’s Dog has been designed to stand out. The interior blends rustic charm with playful nods to his TV career, featuring vintage motoring memorabilia and a few surprises for eagle-eyed fans. Outside, the beer garden offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing drink.

The opening of The Farmer’s Dog is expected to further boost tourism in the area, building on the success of Clarkson’s Farm, which has already brought significant attention to the region. Local businesses are optimistic about the potential for increased footfall, with many hoping the pub will attract new visitors to explore the wider Cotswolds.

The journey to opening the pub has not been without its hurdles. Clarkson faced resistance from some locals and planning authorities over the development of the site. However, his determination to bring the project to life prevailed, and the opening was met with enthusiasm from fans and supporters.

The Farmer’s Dog is now open to the public, offering food, drink, and a chance to experience a slice of life on Diddly Squat Farm. Whether you’re a fan of Clarkson’s Farm or simply looking for a cosy countryside pub, The Farmer’s Dog promises a warm welcome.
