Rooftop Restaurant
There are terrific views of the Oxford spires from the Rooftop Restaurant at the Ashmolean. Dine on the terrace in the summer or gaze out of the huge windows as you enjoy lunch, cocktails or dinner. Have afternoon tea or enjoy free jazz most Thursday evenings. Find the entrance on St Giles (evenings only).
The restaurant menu features pork belly, bavette steak, smoked haddock, hot smoked mackerel, and butternut squash risotto.
The cafe
The café serves meals throughout the day: freshly baked croissants, hot and cold lunch dishes as well as a fine selection of cakes, coffees and biscuits.
Opening hours
Café open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm (last orders 4.30pm).
Rooftop Restaurant opens at 11.00am for drinks and pastries.
The Rooftop Restaurant serves lunch between 11.30am and 3.30pm and afternoon teas from 11.30am to 4.00pm.
Booking in advance is strongly recommended.
Good to know
Ashmolean Members can enjoy a 10% discount on afternoon teas and lunch (not applicable on alcoholic beverages) on presentation of their Membership card on the day.
