Saba UK has appointed PayByPhone, a global leader in mobile parking payments, to replace Connect as the exclusive cashless parking payment provider from 03 March 2025, on behalf of South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils.

PayByPhone to revolutionise parking by offering residents and visitors a seamless, cashless experience in 13 off-street locations, with 24 parking machines across South Oxfordshire and 25 parking machines across the Vale of White Horse.

Councillor Sam James-Lawrie, Cabinet Member for Environment at South Oxfordshire District Council, said, “PayByPhone means our car park users don’t have to search for a pay point and can extend their stay if they need to, while on the go rather than rushing back to their car.”

Councillor Mark Coleman, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environmental Services and Waste at Vale of White Horse District Council, said, “Saba’s move to PayByPhone will make it easier and more convenient for our car park users to pay. Those more comfortable with paying by cash or contactless still can, but I’d encourage everyone to download the app as soon as they can and see how easy it is to use PayByPhone.”

Registration is easy and quick – it takes about 30 seconds.

Adam Dolphin, Managing Director UK for PayByPhone, said, “We are thrilled to launch PayByPhone in South Oxfordshire. Drivers using the PayByPhone app can opt-in to receive a reminder text before their parking session expires, so they can either get back to their vehicles in good time to avoid a penalty notice or, should their visit last longer than anticipated, they can extend their parking session, following terms and conditions, from anywhere at any time through the PayByPhone app or wearable device.

“So, whether it’s a necessary trip to Didcot, a visit to Henley-on-Thames for the Royal Regatta, or simply exploring the surrounding Chilterns and North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, PayByPhone helps to simplify the parking experience for residents and visitors to this wonderful area.”

Local businesses can also benefit from the introduction of PayByPhone thanks to PayByPhone Business. This convenient one-stop-shop solution allows businesses to consolidate their parking expenses into one place for greater oversight.

It also eliminates the financial burden fleet drivers face from paying for parking out of their pocket and waiting to be reimbursed. Self-registration for PayByPhone Business is easy and available in the app.

Motorists using PayByPhone have access to the app’s Maps and the Nearby Parking features. The Maps feature allows them to locate parking before they leave for their destination and Android users can pin their vehicle location onto the map once they have parked.

The Nearby Parking feature instantly provides drivers with the closest PayByPhone parking location number. The app is available in 11 languages, making it inclusive for residents and visitors alike.

Drivers will also find that PayByPhone is about more than parking; it offers them many of their vehicle needs in one convenient app. Fuel Finder helps users find the cheapest petrol and diesel stations while EV Charge Locator and EV Payments enable drivers to find EV charging stations and to pay for the session as well.

The app’s MOT bookings system not only reminds the user of when their MOT is due but also makes managing the task easier. Drivers can also book their vehicle’s service into a network of thousands of garages across the UK.

Dolphin added, “We are confident PayByPhone can make a positive difference to the parking experience in South Oxfordshire. And by offering the additional features geared towards general vehicle management in one simple full-service app, we help our users to get on with what matters most to them.”
