The Westfield Health British Transplant Games has received the Oxfordshire Freemasons as a key supporter of the 2025 games, taking place in Oxford from 31 July to 03 August.

As dedicated sponsors of the volunteer programme, the Oxfordshire Freemasons will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running and success of this year’s event, which relies heavily on volunteer efforts.

Boasting a membership of 1,600 individuals across 50 units, Oxfordshire Freemasons have been a cornerstone of the local community since being established in 1729, in the historic Cornmarket Street in Oxford. Their support for the Games reflects their commitment to community service and volunteerism.

The Westfield Health British Transplant Games, organised by Transplant Active, celebrates the resilience and achievements of transplant recipients, live donors, and donor families.

More than 1,000 competitors will take part in 24 sporting events across Oxford, including athletics, swimming, and cycling, with major activities hosted at Blenheim Palace and other local venues.

This year, thanks to the support of the Oxfordshire Freemasons, the volunteer programme is receiving a significant boost. Their backing includes funding for volunteer coordination, distribution of promotional materials.

Crucially, the Freemasons are also actively encouraging local residents to get involved and volunteer, reinforcing their long-standing reputation as champions of community engagement.

Their involvement highlights the essential role of volunteers in delivering the Games and underscores the Freemasons’ enduring commitment to fostering unity, compassion, and support throughout Oxfordshire.

Tim Grier, Oxfordshire Provincial Grand Charity Steward, said: “Supporting the British Transplant Games aligns perfectly with our values of community, resilience, and giving back.

“It is an honour to contribute to such a meaningful cause and to witness firsthand the remarkable impact organ donation has on so many lives. My father had a kidney transplant in 1982, and it extended his life by twenty years.”

Paul Harden, Chair of Trustees at Transplant Active, added: “The British Transplant Games are a powerful celebration of life, resilience, and the transformative gift of organ donation.

“The support of organisations like the Oxfordshire Freemasons is invaluable in making the Games a success and amplifying our message of transplantation, organ donation, and community spirit.”
