Thame Pride returned this year with a programme of live entertainment, community activities and family-friendly events, attracting visitors from across Oxfordshire while celebrating diversity, equality and inclusion.

Among the organisations supporting the pride event was Oxford Bus Company, which attended as a Gold sponsor and brought along its distinctive rainbow-branded electric bus.

The vehicle proved a popular attraction throughout the day, with visitors stopping to take photographs as it was displayed on the High Street in Thame.

Representatives from the bus operator were also on hand to speak with residents about local services, answer questions and provide timetable information, while the company promoted the event through complimentary advertising across its bus network and social media channels.

Luke Marion, Managing Director of Oxford Bus Company, said the company was pleased to support the event and its wider message of inclusion.

“We were pleased to support Thame Pride as a Gold sponsor, showcasing our support for inclusion in our communities,” he said.

“Diversity, equality and inclusivity are core values we hold across the company throughout the year. Engaging with the community is also a key pillar of our business, and it was great to meet people and answer questions about our services.”

The rainbow-branded bus has become a familiar sight at Pride celebrations across Oxfordshire, having also appeared at Oxford Pride for the third consecutive year earlier this summer.

Now in its second year, Thame Pride continued to build on the success of its inaugural event, offering entertainment across four stages alongside an open mic session, craft workshops, an art exhibition, a Pride history trail and a variety of community stalls.

Pride events across Oxfordshire continue to provide opportunities for communities to come together, celebrate LGBTQIA+ identities and promote equality, while encouraging greater visibility, understanding and inclusion throughout the county.
