Carousel Buses has introduced a series of new services to improve travel connections for students at The Henley College, linking towns across South Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
The operator has worked with the college to design a bespoke network that complements existing term-time services, with three new routes – 620, 624 and 625 – starting this week to coincide with the beginning of the academic year.
The services will strengthen links from Princes Risborough, Chinnor, Watlington, Beaconsfield, Thame and Marlow.
Alongside this, it will also provide improved connections for villages including Aston Rowant, Nettlebed, Denham, Gerrards Cross, The Chalfonts, Seer Green, Loudwater, Wooburn Green, Bourne End, Tiddington, Chalgrove, Tetsworth, Postcombe, Stokenchurch and Lane End.
Luke Marion, Managing Director of Carousel Buses, said:
“We work closely with local stakeholders to understand where there is demand for our services, and this particularly applies to our education routes, which provide critical links to schools and colleges for students who otherwise would struggle logistically to attend lessons.
“It’s been great to work in partnership with The Henley College to deliver an enhanced timetable ahead of the new academic year, and we’ve been encouraged by the response from students to the new services.
“It’s another positive step forwards for Carousel since our operation took on the network of services previously operated by Arriva just over a year ago.”
Passes for the new routes are limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Payments can be made in full or split into six-monthly instalments.
Carousel’s academic annual pass also covers other services in its network during the school year, including weekends.
Among them is service 850, running every 15 minutes between High Wycombe, Marlow and Henley, with extensions every 30 minutes to Twyford and Reading.
Further information, including timetables and ticket details, is available on the Carousel Buses website.
