Welbeck Oxford has completed the first stage of recruitment as the private healthcare provider prepares to create more than 200 jobs ahead of opening later this year.
More than £30 million is being invested into the new state-of-the-art medical practice in Jordan Hill, North Oxford, which will become Welbeck’s second location following the successful launch of its flagship centre in London seven years ago.
The centre will offer a comprehensive range of medical services across 15 specialities, including cardiology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, ENT, endoscopy and neurology.
Recruitment at managerial level has now been completed, with Welbeck Oxford moving on to recruit a wide range of clinical and specialist roles.

Rachel Boxall, Centre Director of Welbeck Oxford, said: “We’re delighted to have finalised the first wave of recruitment, strengthening our senior leadership team and filling positions within the management tier.
“The next step will focus on ongoing recruitment for clinical and specialist roles, beginning with key positions in imaging, pharmacy and paediatrics.
“There are now more than 100 clinicians invested across Welbeck Oxford’s 15 different specialities, and recruitment continues to ensure we can deliver outstanding patient pathways.
“We will also be aiming to hire 120 contracted staff, with a range of exciting career opportunities available for nurses, radiographers, theatre practitioners, reception staff and wider administrative roles.”
Welbeck has worked closely with award-winning specialist recruitment agency Compass Associates during the hiring process. Compass specialises in recruitment across independent healthcare, social care, children’s services and the education sector.
Stuart Cousins, Director at Compass Associates, said: “Compass Associates is pleased to have successfully delivered phase one of the Welbeck Oxford recruitment process, supporting the placement of talented clinical leaders into the facility over the past six months.
“During this time, the team identified 85 potential hires for consideration, resulting in 62 interview requests. As a result, appointments have been made across roles including Operations Director, Director of Clinical Services, and management positions in pharmacy, supplies, imaging, quality assurance, theatre and facilities.
“As we look ahead to the second phase, we are focusing on clinical staffing hires to successfully complete the full-scale delivery of the Welbeck recruitment programme.”
Welbeck Oxford is expected to open later this year and will provide minimally invasive treatments designed to allow patients to return home the same day, without the need for overnight stays.
