Staff from Taylor Wimpey plc Southern Counties have raised £3,095 for charity after taking part in the company’s annual fundraising initiative, the Taylor Wimpey Challenge.

The event, now in its 12th year, has raised more than £1.6 million to date for the Youth Adventure Trust, which supports vulnerable young people through outdoor adventure programmes, as well as a range of other regional charities across the UK.

This year’s challenge took place on Saturday 16 May 2026, when more than 300 employees across 49 teams completed a hike along the North Devon coastline. The physical challenge was followed by a series of competitive creative and strategic team tasks designed to test collaboration, problem-solving and resilience.

Funds raised by the Southern Counties team will be shared between the Youth Adventure Trust and Maggie’s, which provides practical, emotional and social support to people affected by cancer and their families.

Ian McFaul, Technical Director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, praised the initiative, highlighting both its charitable impact and team-building value.

“The Taylor Wimpey Challenge is always a fantastic event. Not only does it bring together employees from across the business, but more importantly, it raises a huge amount of money for extremely worthy charities.

“This year has been no different and I’m extremely proud of our team for their effort in raising much needed donations for the Youth Adventure Trust and Maggie’s,” he said.

Mark Davey, CEO at the Youth Adventure Trust, also welcomed the continued support, noting the enthusiasm of participants and the long-term impact of the fundraising.

“It has been another fantastic year for the Taylor Wimpey Challenge, with all of the participants embracing the activities with camaraderie and a great sense of humour. As always, we’re very appreciative of their efforts in support of our mission to help young people fulfil their potential and lead positive lives,” he said.
