A member of Frilford Heath Golf Club has completed an extraordinary endurance feat, playing 180 holes of golf over three consecutive days to raise vital funds for local young carers.

Aude Cazenave took on the demanding Summer Solstice Challenge, pushing through long hours on the course while raising more than £4,000 for Be Free Young Carers, the club’s designated Charity of the Year.

The challenge brought together members of Frilford Heath, with fellow golfers walking and playing alongside Cazenave throughout the three-day effort. Their on-course support was matched by widespread generosity from the wider membership community, helping to drive donations well beyond initial expectations.

Funds raised will go directly towards supporting young carers aged 8 to 17 across Oxfordshire. The charity provides essential emotional support, social opportunities and respite activities, helping young people balance their caring responsibilities with the chance to enjoy their own childhoods.

Russell Stebbings, Managing Director at Frilford Heath, praised the effort and the impact it has created within the club community.

“Aude has shown remarkable determination to successfully complete this challenge, and the club is deeply grateful for her incredible contribution to our Captains’ chosen charity,” he said.

“I am incredibly heartened by the level of support and goodwill Aude has generated among our members, too. So many came out to support her across the three days. The donations and awareness this challenge has generated will mean so much to the charity, and it represents a major milestone toward our goal of raising tens of thousands of pounds for them this year.”

The fundraising effort is part of a wider campaign at Frilford Heath Golf Club, a 450-acre championship golf estate in Oxfordshire known for its three heathland courses and longstanding commitment to community engagement.

Further donations can be made via the club’s JustGiving page, with additional information available through Be Free Young Carers and Frilford Heath Golf Club.
