Two Oxford hotels have been recognised for their high standards of hospitality after retaining prestigious Four-Star AA ratings and receiving further accolades for dining and customer service.
Both voco Oxford Spires and voco Oxford Thames successfully retained their high-end Four-Star AA status following their latest inspections, with inspectors recognising the quality of accommodation, hospitality and overall guest experience.
The hotels also each received an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence, an award that recognises restaurants delivering high standards of cooking, consistency and creativity. The Rosette scheme is regarded as one of the UK’s most respected benchmarks for restaurant quality.
Alongside the hotel-wide achievements, Ciaran O’Riley from voco Oxford Spires received an AA Courtesy & Care Award, recognising exceptional customer service, professionalism and dedication to guest experience.
The results highlight the continued strength of Oxford’s hospitality sector, where hotels compete not only on accommodation but also on dining, events and visitor experiences. Both properties serve a wide range of guests throughout the year, including leisure travellers, business visitors, conference delegates and wedding parties.
Wendy Procter, Cluster General Manager for both hotels, said the awards reflected the commitment of the teams across both properties.
She said: “We are incredibly proud of these results, which recognise the commitment and passion of our entire team. Achieving high-end Four-Star status across both hotels, alongside AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence and Courtesy & Care Awards for our colleagues, is a fantastic achievement.
“These awards reflect the culture we’ve built across both hotels – one where exceptional hospitality, great food and genuine care for our guests are at the heart of everything we do. We couldn’t be prouder of our teams and this well-deserved recognition.”
The AA’s inspection programme assesses every aspect of a hotel stay, including service, accommodation, cleanliness, food quality and operational standards. Retaining a Four-Star rating requires hotels to consistently meet demanding quality criteria, while Rosette awards are based on the quality of food served rather than the standard of accommodation.
The latest recognition reinforces the reputation of voco Oxford Spires and voco Oxford Thames as established destinations for visitors to Oxford, whether for overnight stays, business events, weddings or dining.
As tourism continues to play an important role in Oxford’s economy, industry recognition from organisations such as the AA provides an independent measure of quality that helps maintain the city’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading visitor destinations.
