Students and staff at Aureus School in Didcot are celebrating the school’s best-ever GCSE results, with significant improvements across English and maths.

This year’s results saw 7% more students achieve Grade 4 or above in both English and maths, while the proportion achieving Grade 5 or above in both subjects increased by 11%. There was also a 7% increase in the number of students achieving Grade 7 or above in both English and maths compared with previous years.

The results mark a significant milestone for the school following a sustained period of improvement since Headteacher Kirsty Rogers joined Aureus in 2023.

Over the past three years, the school has focused on raising standards, strengthening teaching and learning, and ensuring students receive the support they need to achieve their potential.

The latest results provide a measure of the progress made during that period, with staff celebrating alongside students and thanking families for their contribution to a strong home-school partnership.

‘A fantastic accomplishment’

Headteacher Kirsty Rogers said the results reflected the hard work of students, staff and families.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved. These results reflect not only their hard work and determination, but also the dedication of our staff and the support of our families.”

She described achieving the school’s best-ever GCSE outcomes as “a fantastic accomplishment”, adding that the results reflect the progress Aureus has made.

Warwick Sharp, CEO of GLF Schools, also congratulated students, families and staff, describing the results as the school’s “best ever”.

The results represent another milestone for Aureus School as it continues its focus on improving outcomes and supporting students to achieve their ambitions beyond secondary school.
