About the Abingdon Air and Country Show 2022
The Abingdon Air and Country Show 2022 (the 22nd Air and Country Show) will take place at Abingdon Airfield on Saturday, 11 September 2022. From dynamic flying displays to arts and craft stalls, the show has something for everybody.
There’ll be aerobatic displays from warbirds and biplanes to modern day jets. And plenty to see on the ground too – with static aircraft displays, cockpits to sit in, as well as a great mix of re-enactment stalls, classic cars and country fayre traditions and craftsmanship.
The Abingdon Air and Country Show began in 2000 as a local fete organised by Neil Porter, a landscape gardener by trade. It was created with the desire to put something back into the community and provide a family day out at an affordable price.
The event barely broke even, but through perseverance, the show has grown steadily into one of the sizeable annual events in the area and a highlight on the airshow calendar.
Unlike the many UK airshows, everyone involved in the show’s organisation is a volunteer. And over the past 20 years, they’ve been able to donate generously to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Douglas House Respite Centre, and many other local charities.
