About An Audience with the “Movers & Shakers”
In support of Parkinson’s
The Parky Podcasters are coming to Henley and recording in front of a live audience. With a wry smile, they call themselves the “Movers and Shakers.” These six have two things in common: fascinating careers in the public eye and a diagnosis of Parkinson’s.
Who Are they?
Former High Court Judge – Sir Nicholas Mostyn, businesswoman, and former journalist Gillian Lacey-Solymar, former BBC journalists – Rory Cellan-Jones and Mark Mardell, the former host and grand inquisitor of Newsnight – Jeremy Paxman, and Vicar of Dibley co-writer – Paul Mayhew-Archer.
After four successful podcast series and over 1 million downloads, they’re bringing their award-winning blend of comedic anecdotes, personal stories, intense debate, and considerate compassion for all things “Parky” to the Kenton Theatre.
Hear them share their stories from before and after diagnosis – the good, the bad, and the “embarrassing bits”. Learn how their podcast has helped others and how it has affected them personally.
If you or anyone you know has been affected by Parkinson’s, this evening aims to inform, support and entertain. With Paul’s humour and brightly optimistic determination to view their collective curse as a personal blessing, surprise local guests, and audience participation, it aims to be an event to remember.
All profits will be shared between Parkinson’s UK, Cure Parkinson’s, Spotlight YOPD, and King’s Parkinson’s Charitable Fund.
