About Buttercross Theatre Productions proudly presents: Vintage Hitchcock – A Live Radio Play

Step back into the golden age of suspense as Buttercross Theatre Productions brings Alfred Hitchcock’s early thrillers to life in Vintage Hitchcock – A Live Radio Play.

Performed in the style of a 1940s radio broadcast — complete with live sound effects, voice actors, and vintage charm — this atmospheric evening features three gripping tales: The Lodger, Sabotage, and The 39 Steps.

Choose your seat and your experience:

  • The Feature Tables: Join fellow guests at one of our lively themed group tables — Notorious, Psycho, Suspicion, or Frenzy. Each table includes a cheese and wine experience, perfect for sharing suspense and conversation.
  • Nestled Tables among The Birds: For a more intimate and atmospheric setting, book one of our small, private tables tucked among The Birds. Ideal for 2–4 guests, these tables also include our cheese and wine offering — a refined way to enjoy the evening’s tension.
  • Vertigo Section: Prefer a more traditional theatre experience? The Vertigo section offers classic row seating — no cheese, no wine, just pure, uninterrupted Hitchcock.

Seats are limited and selling fast — book now to experience a night of vintage thrills, dramatic twists, and live theatrical storytelling at its finest.

About Corn Exchange, Witney

Corn Exchange, Witney

The Corn Exchange is a public hall in the centre of Witney, located in West Oxfordshire. A community space and multi-purpose arts venue. Whether you are looking for music, theatre, comedy nights, lectures, conferences or even weddings, it is the venue for you.

The Corn Exchange, Witney, was built by the private Corn Exchange Company in 1863, replacing a 16th-century building used in the 1850s as a corn returns office. This beautiful stone building was designed by architect J. Collier of Putney in an Italianate style and, by 1875, was Witney’s leading building.

From the outset, it was used for social events and meetings as well as corn dealings and housed several clubs and societies. The building continues to fulfil this purpose and will continue to do so in the future.

With the 19th-century building incorporating all the character you would expect, plus the addition of modern facilities, and not forgetting the in-house café and bar 1863, The Corn Exchange is a destination and focal point for the people of West Oxfordshire and beyond.
