About King 810: Welcome to the Rustbelt

Flint, Michigan – a huge part of America’s industrial rustbelt history, home to infamous trailblazers King 810, and the inspiration behind the band’s latest single and title track ‘Rustbelt Nu Metal‘, out now.

Recorded live on the spring equinox in one day in front of a live studio audience of 50 people, the music video flashes images of the harrowing reality of life on the streets of Flint; contaminated drinking water, gun fights, knife crime, unsafe sex work, and drug dependency, all topped off with vocalist and creative visionary David Gunn‘s signature snarls and fervent venom.

Taken from their next upcoming album Rustbelt Nu Metal, which is slated for a June 2025 release, the band shared, “RBNM was recorded live on the spring equinox 3/23 in one day in front of a studio audience of 50. There are no samples, keyboards, synthesisers, or click tracks/metronomes used in the recording. Give this many listens and many views and we will reconvene with our collective thoughts on the matter. Very truly yours, King 810.”

Creatively on fire and inspired by this way of recording, the band intends to record a second album in this series in June on the summer solstice and a third, again in the same fashion, on the autumn equinox.

About O2 Academy Oxford

O2 Academy Oxford

The Edwardian building on Cowley Road has been hosting live music for decades. But prior to being a music venue, it was a Cooperative party hall. It was originally known as The Venue and then the much-respected Zodiac, both of which paved the way for O2 Academy Oxford, which officially launched in September 2007, with performances from New Young Pony Club, The Magic Numbers and Young Knives.

Since then, the O2 Academy Oxford has established itself as one of the city’s greatest venues for live music and club nights, with some of the best gigs to date coming from Ed Sheeran, Foals, Stereophonics, Ozzy Osbourne, Babyshambles, Hozier and Royal Blood. Visit the venue information page for further details, including opening times, getting there, age restrictions and more.
