Enjoy Christmas 2022 at Waddesdon Manor!

Christmas at Waddesdon is back with magical lights, the gardens aglow and dazzling displays inside the house creating a Waddesdon-inspired wonderland for the first time since 2019.

Christmas in the House

Follow a new route through the East Wing with festive displays, sparkling trees and sumptuous decorations inspired by the Manor’s many treasures, from famous portraits to exquisite porcelain. Light installations will add a touch of Winter Light magic.

Open from 12 November to 02 January (excluding 24 to 26 December). Some rooms are decorated while the rest of the house is ‘put to bed’ for conservation and cleaning. Advance booking of timed tickets is essential for all visitors, including NT members.

Christmas Fair

Soak up the sights, smells and sounds of Christmas with hand-selected stalls all housed in charming wooden chalets, surrounded by twinkling trees.

Open 12 November to 18 December, Wednesdays to Sundays from noon to 7.00pm


Winter Light

As twilight falls see the gardens sparkle brightly with spectacular light displays bringing our extraordinary landscape to life, in partnership with Luminism.

Winter Light will continue on Fridays to Sundays from 06 to 22 January 2023.

Immersed in Light

Walk through the Coach House at the Stables and experience a new interactive exhibition featuring multiple light installations to captivate and delight the senses.

Winter Light trail

From dusk, enjoy dramatic colour and playful installations as you stroll beneath magically illuminated tree canopies. Look out for interactives at Tay Bridge, Daffodil Valley transformed with 5,000 orbs creating a glittering blanket and walk through a tunnel of twinkling stars.

Your Christmas House & Grounds admission includes:

Decorated rooms in the East Wing, Christmas Fair (until 18 December), Winter Light trail, Manor façade illuminations, Winter Woodland along Miss Alice’s Drive, and Immersed in Light at the Coach House Gallery.

Pre-booking is essential for all visitors to the grounds and house, including National Trust members.

Please book carefully, as tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.


Parking & buses

When you book online, please select one of the parking, shuttle bus or walking options.

  • Walking to the Manor takes about 25-30 mins from the car park, along a lit, hard-surface path which has a steep section
  • Premium Parking spaces can be booked online, £30 per car, these are in the private car park at the top of the hill behind the North fountain, see location on map
  • Bus tickets £2.50 Adult £1.50 Child (3-17 years) should be booked online with your admission tickets
  • Bus tickets are valid for all journeys made on the day of your visit
  • Free visitor car park includes Blue Badge parking
  • Blue Badge holders and their carer must each book a bus ticket (free of charge)
