Spring 2021 Jousting Tournament at Blenheim Palace - things to do in Oxfordshire this bank holiday

About the Jousting Tournament at Blenheim Palace

The spring 2022 Jousting Tournament featuring the Knights of Middle England, Falconry and other attractions will take place on the South Lawn at Blenheim Palace over the weekend from 30 April to 02 May.

The Knights of Middle England are ready to take you back to the exciting and colourful era of the Middle Ages with their action packed, high octane Jousting and Stunt Show at Blenheim Palace.

The Knights bring the much fabled sport of jousting full tilt into the 21st Century. Jousting is one of the finest and most colourful sports in our history – a chance to see pageantry, competition and tradition combined in an elegant, unusual and exciting equestrian event.

Visitors will be transported back in time to a medieval tournament complete with authentic tiltyard, royal box, falconry, archery and hand to hand combat. Expect thrills – and maybe spills! – in an action-packed day of discovery.

Recreating the glorious jousting matches of Britain’s past, knights in shining armour will take to the field on their noble steeds in a momentous display of bravery and skill, beneath the spectacular backdrop of Blenheim Palace.

Knights and horses will be costumed with chainmail and steel armour for the period 1200-1250. The knights will be using 14-foot-long lances

Entry to the Jousting Tournament is included with both Palace, Park and Gardens and Park and Gardens only tickets. Donate your Palace, Park and Gardens ticket to our charity when purchasing to convert to a free Annual Pass. Annual Pass Holders are eligible for free entry to this event.
