About the Wantage Literary Festival 2022

The Wantage Literary Festival 2022 will be running from 24 October to 05 November this year.

Held during the October school holiday, the festival is an eclectic and lively mixture of events covering literature, poetry, comedy, history, science, the arts and much more.

Celebrating ‘all things literary’ – with talks, workshops, themed evenings and family-friendly shows – this year, events will be held at The Beacon, Wantage (OX12 9BX) and Cob & Pen (OX12 8AE).

Wantage Literary Festival is generously supported each year by local businesses, organisations and authors. And the festival is dedicated to promoting the love of literature in all its forms to everyone in Wantage, Oxfordshire and beyond.

Events are planned and organised by a dedicated team of volunteers, who also help run a charitable outreach program, bringing the wonder of words to the local community with some free and reduced price events throughout the year. The schools outreach programme plans to return in 2023.

Programme

The 2022 programme includes Angela Gallop (How to Solve a Crime), Lady Carnarvon (Seasons at Highclere), Sir Max Hastings (The Cuban Missile Crisis 1962), and Graeme Hall (All Dogs Great and Small) amongst othere.
