About the Wantage Literary Festival 2023

The Wantage Literary Festival 2023 will be running from 21 October to 04 November this year.

Following the success of the mini 2022 festival, the 2023 festival will see the return of some great names, poetry events, history and fiction panels, along with more free family-friendly activities.

The organisers are also pleased to announce that their schools’ outreach will take place this autumn.

Thanks as always goes to the supporters and volunteers who generously dedicate their time and resources to ensuring the Wantage Literary Festival remains an key event in the Vale of White Horse’s calendar.

Celebrating ‘all things literary’ – with talks, workshops, themed evenings and family-friendly shows – this year, events will be held at:

• Vale & Downland Museum (OX12 8BL)
• SS Peter & Paul Parish Church (OX12 8AJ )
• Cob & Pen (OX12 8AE)

Programme

The 2023 programme will see Will Gompertz taking us into the minds of artists from contemporary stars to old masters, Lucy Atkins and Claire Fuller on the fiction panel, discussing their latest books (Windmill Hill and The Memory of Animals), composer, writer, musician and entertainer, the award-winning Richard Digance reminiscing about his varied and fascinating career, and Mary Jean Chan bringing their second poetry collection Bright Fear to the festival.
