Venue information
Situated in the centre of Henley-on-Thames, the Kenton Theatre is the fourth-oldest working theatre in the UK and a registered charity. Seating 240, the theatre today offers a varied programme of comedy, drama, music, talks and more – as well as being available for hire.
The theatre is home to annual performances from Henley Amateur Operatic and Drama Society (HAODS), Henley Children’s Theatre, Henley Drama Festival, Henley Literary Festival, Henley Players, Henley Youth Festival, Mike Hurst, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), Woodley Light Operatic Society, amongst others. High-profile performers at the Kenton in recent years include Michael McIntyre, Georgie Fame, Haley Mills, Chris Barber, Dara O’Briain, Diana Rigg, Russell Brand, PP Arnold and Marti Webb.
The theatre’s first production, the farce The School of Reform took place on 07 November 1805. Celebrated performers who have graced the Kenton stage over the last five decades include Celia Johnson, John Mortimer, Anthony Newley, Kate Winslet, Tom Baker, Joe Brown, Diana Dors, David Essex, Roy Hudd and Jeremy Irons.

Getting there
By car
The Kenton Theatre is on New Street in Henley-on-Thames. The postcode is RG9 2BS. At one end of New Street is a teddy bear shop, at the other end is the River Thames and the Kenton Theatre is about halfway between them.
There is limited parking on New Street, with the nearest car park (Kings Road/Waitrose, RG9 2DQ) a short walk from the theatre. Parking charges apply from Monday to Saturday between 8.00am and 5.00pm and Sunday from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Parking is free outside those hours. Other long-stay car parks include Henley Rugby Club (RG9 2JA) and Henley Railway Station (RG9 1FR).
Public Transport
Henley Railway Station is a five-minute walk from the theatre, and it offers direct trains to Shiplake, Wargrave and Twyford, with connecting trains from Twyford to Reading and London. Buses from Marlow, Reading and High Wycombe stop at nearby Bell Street.
Opening times
The Kenton Theatre box office is open from Monday to Friday between 11.00am and 3.00pm (except bank/public holidays) and on Saturdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm. The box office, bar and coffee bar are open one hour prior to each performance start time. See individual event listings for start time.

Please advise the box office of any special requirements. There is one wheelchair space and a carer space (essential carers go free), as well as a hearing loop. There is also a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
