RARE Productions is holding open auditions for its upcoming production of Les Miserables, which will be performed at The Kenton this July.
RARE Productions is a youth musical theatre company that provides opportunities for young people aged 8 to 21 to perform in full-scale musical productions in professional theatres across the UK.
The company strives to make being part of a RARE show a great experience for all our cast members. From the first rehearsal to the last live performance, the emphasis is on teamwork, fun and friendship whilst learning new skills and performance techniques.
Audition details are as follows:
Audition 1 on Sunday, 10 March, 2024 at The Kenton, New Street, Henley-on-Thames RG9 2BP
10.00am to 11.00am for 7- to 12-year-olds.
11.00am to noon for 13- to 18-year-olds.
Audition 2 on Sunday, 17 March 2024, at Valley Road Primary School, Henley on Thames, RG9 1RR
2.00pm to 3.30pm for 7- to 12-year-olds.
3.30pm to 5.00pm for 13- to 18-year-olds.
These are open auditions, so there is no need to book in advance. Auditionees can arrive anytime during the audition time slots. Simply turn up any time within the allocated time slot for your age group, sign in, and audition.
The person auditioning will go into the audition in groups of approximately 15 to 20 people of a similar age group where possible (8 to 12 years or 13 to 21 years).
Auditions usually last around 30 minutes and involve singing, dancing and acting, and all materials are provided and taught on the day, so there is no need to prepare anything beforehand.
Parents are not allowed into the audition room but are asked to stay and supervise their children before and after the audition.
A letter will be sent in the post letting you know the outcome of the audition within two weeks of the second audition date. All auditionees will receive a letter, whether successful or not.
All performers must be over 8 and under 19 by the time the show is performed at The Kenton Theatre in Henley-on-Thames from 11 to 13 July 2024.
