About Q Gardens Farm Shop, Steventon
Q Gardens Farm Shop aim to stock produce that has been grown, reared or made as locally as possible which includes fruit from our own orchards and meat from our own farm just a couple of miles away from the shop.
There is a wide range of butchery products including their own beef, which is hung for at least a month, lamb, local pork and sausages made onsite, and succulent free-range chicken which is carefully sourced from Holly Farm in Worcestershire.
They have the largest fruit farm in Oxfordshire and of course they are home to the Harwell cherry – and a long history of fruit growing in the Harwell area, with records showing fruit production from the early 1500s.
They make several varieties of apple juice, the varieties varying from year to year depending on how much of each variety is available; from sweet Lord Lambourne to sharp Bramley, produced solely from their home grown apples. The apples are pressed and the juice collected, bottled and pasteurised in Q Gardens’ own juicing unit.
The deli counter contains all sorts of good things – all handmade in the kitchen at Q Gardens by Penny, Sara and Robert. The pies are packed with meaty or fruity filling, with little space for air, and the contents will actually look like it should.
They also stock bread, dairy products, a wide range of local beers and wines, locally milled flour, cakes and biscuits, preserves and dry goods – with as few food miles as possible.
