About Stanford in the Vale Household Waste Recycling Centre

Serving the Vale of White Horse district, Stanford in the Vale HWRC is a modern, well-equipped centre designed to meet the needs of residents from Faringdon, Wantage, and surrounding villages. It’s a convenient destination for recycling and disposing of household waste responsibly.

The site accepts a wide variety of materials including:

  • General rubbish and garden waste
  • Cardboard, paper, glass, and plastic containers
  • Electrical appliances and white goods
  • Scrap metal, wood, and bulky waste
  • Rubble and soil from household projects
  • Hazardous waste such as batteries and paint
  • Textiles, shoes, and cooking oil

Visitors can take advantage of a reuse container, where good-quality items can be left for others to collect, encouraging circular use of household goods.

The traffic flow system helps minimise delays, and staff are available to assist with sorting or answering questions. Permits are required for vans and trailers, which can be applied for free online.

Pedestrian access is not permitted for safety reasons, but cyclists may use the site.

Stanford in the Vale HWRC provides an accessible and comprehensive recycling service that supports Oxfordshire’s ambitions for waste reduction and resource efficiency.
